Terms of use

Last updated: 30 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Althena Care, provided by Alpha Business Solutions Private Limited ("Althena", "we"). Please read them with our privacy policy. By using the app you agree to them.

1. What Althena Care is

Althena Care supports people between appointments with their psychiatrist or psychologist. Hospitals license it, and you use it because your clinician invited you with their code.

2. Andrea is an AI

  • Andrea is an AI care companion. She is not a person, a doctor, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a counsellor or a therapist.
  • She does not diagnose and does not advise on starting, stopping or changing any medication. Questions about your treatment are for your clinician.
  • Your clinician is in charge of your care. Andrea follows their instructions and shares what you tell her with them.
  • Andrea can make mistakes. Don't rely on her for decisions about your health.

3. Not an emergency service

If you are in danger or thinking of harming yourself or someone else, call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, 24x7) or emergency services on 112 now. Althena Care alerts your clinician when you mention a crisis, but they may not see it straight away.

4. Who can use it

  • You must be 18 or older, invited by a clinician, and in India.
  • Give accurate details, and keep your phone and sign-in to yourself.
  • Your clinician or hospital can pause or end your access, for example when your care with them ends.

5. Payments

  • Some hospitals charge for Althena Care. If yours does, the app shows the plans and prices it has set before you pay. Prices include GST.
  • A plan gives you a month of access with a number of call minutes; you can buy extra minutes if you need them. Payments are handled by Razorpay.
  • Refunds: you can cancel any time, and your plan then stops at the end of the month you've paid for. If we took a payment in error, we refund it within 7 working days.
  • Crisis helplines in the app are always available, whether or not you have a plan.

6. Using it fairly

Don't misuse Althena Care: no harming or harassing anyone, no pretending to be someone else, no trying to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, and no copying, reverse engineering or overloading the service.

7. Your information

What you share stays yours. You allow us, your clinician and your hospital to use it to provide your care, as the privacy policy describes.

8. Changes and availability

We may change or improve features. We'll tell you in the app before a change that affects you significantly. We work to keep Althena Care available, but it may sometimes be unavailable.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Althena Care at any time. To delete your account, see Delete your account.

10. Liability

Althena Care supports the care your clinician gives; it doesn't replace it, and decisions about your treatment are your clinician's. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, or your rights as a consumer.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts at Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms: [email protected]. Complaints about personal data go to our Grievance Officer, as set out in the privacy policy.
